Responsible Tourism: What Universal Beach Hotels Is Doing and How You Can Join
Discover Be Responsible Be Universal, our sustainability project
Being responsible means respecting others, but also the environment, what gives us life, and the way we build society. With all these ingredients, at Universal Beach Hotels we believe that sustainability and responsibility are inseparable values. We know that sustainability goes far beyond caring for the planet, but today we want to focus on our environmental initiatives, those that help us protect the landscapes we love… and that you can help preserve too.
From this idea, Be Universal, Be Responsible was born, the name of our ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) project, our way of understanding environmental, social, and governance sustainability.
We know that sustainability goes far beyond caring for the planet, but today we want to focus on our environmental initiatives, those that help us protect the landscapes we love… and that you can help preserve too.
What we do to care for the environmentue hacemos para cuidar el entorno
Cleaner energy
We have installed photovoltaic solar panels in several of our hotels, moving towards a self-consumption energy model and reducing our carbon footprint. In addition, all our hotels use green energy, meaning that for every Kwh we consume, the same amount is guaranteed to be produced from renewable sources.
Goodbye single-use plastic
We have eliminated 100% of single-use plastics in our operations, opting for refillable Tot Herba amenities, which are also 100% locally produced.
Local and zero-mile gastronomy
Our commitment to local products not only protects the planet but also boosts the island's economy. Fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients are the foundation for a more sustainable and authentic culinary experience.
Partnerships that matter
We collaborate with organizations such as UNICEF, Deixalles, and the Cleanwave Foundation through the MedGardens project, which works on regenerating the marine ecosystems of Sant Elm, very close to one of our hotels.
How you can join

- Take care of your surroundings: respect flora, fauna, and the cleanliness of beaches and trails.
- Participate: ask at reception about our environmental activities and join beach cleanups or solidarity actions.
Our goal is clear: to make every stay have a positive impact.
